It's a great day for all of us!
The embers of hope have been rekindled.
I never thought I would feel these emotions again.
It's a great day for you and ATG!
Congratulations!
It's rating doesn't surprise me.
People will stand behind and support something of value, whether an album or a new president.
They can't steal a well deserved top rating for your album and although they tried their worst, they couldn't steal this election!
The peaceful revolution for change was too overwhelming.
peace and hope for '08 and beyond
your pal MK
AND SIGN A FEW COPIES (A FEW...LOLOLLLLLL) OF THE ALBUM.
Its a tough job, but someone's gotta do it. Consider this your punishment for having so many followers. LOL
My copy is IN MY HANDS! I'm so excited, I haven't even listened to it yet, I'm tearing off the wrapper as I type this. My heart is pounding!
I'm the quiet one that watches carefully in your clubhouse but am probably as excited if not more so than everyone combined, if that's possible.
BC, thanks for being so interacive on these sites...that's part of what makes me such a huge fan of yours. You're a rare gem.
Thank YOU for giving us all such a great CD!! You're the best, Burton. Signing a few, are ya? LOL
Nice job at the lunchtime show today, Burton ... "ungodly hour" though it was, LOL
The ATG stuff holds up really well solo - even the guitar-based stuff!
Nice shout-out to the faithful as well ... :)
Congratulations -- there was no question it would go #1! Your talent is God given and wonderful!
Come and share with us in Northern California!
Thank YOU for sharing the making of the album with us and now we actually have the album in our possession and its FANTASTIC!!
I was privileged to be at the show on Monday that CHFI hosted. You were, as always EXCELLENT!!! Thank you for playing so many songs from the new album! Hearing them live is amazing, you always give each song a special touch and so when I listen to those songs on the album I can visualize the live version!
We had front row seats at the show on Monday and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, we could have stayed there all night listening to your songs!
Congratulations on a great achievement and you should be so proud of yourself as we are of you.
I am so lucky to be one of the faithful.
Kudos to you!
Reminds me of the time EFR overtook Mr. Acker Bilk and left him in the dust
Burton I know you are thrilled with your Amazon status, but I have to tell you it makes my heart sing too!! I'm so proud of you and ATG....I'm telling everyone I see. Between you and Obama....I'm walking on clouds :) Only wish I could have been in the Toronto area to see some of the concerts. Guess I'll just have to go on and "Dream" :)
Derrick was checking Amazon last night and we saw that ATG was number 1. A great day indeed....ATG is number ONE and Obama is President Elect.
ATG is an awesome CD and Lil has done you proud with the DVD.
Now.....can't wait for Still Above The Ground 2009....
CONGATULATIONS!!!!!
Congratulations Burton !! I just came back from your ATG signing (Im the one with the Clubhouse banner). Thanks from the bottom of my heart for signing the banner, it means a lot to me. You are a true gentleman. Words cannot express the gratitude for the new CD and years of music you have given us....Deborah
Thank you for letting us in on this whole process with you.
As a Canadian, I am so proud of the success you've had over the last 40 years. ATG is amazing and so are you.
Joy
Spent my lunch hour in the basement of First Canadian Place today which is part of the underground network of shops and walkways that connect the Toronto Bank Tower Business District between Union Station and the Eatons Centre. Burton showed up at 12:15 and played a solo set featuring several tunes from ATG. Started off with TPOS. Voice was in fine form for this one. This was followed by Dream which featured some wonderful piano chords and a fine vocal line. Above The Ground (which I consider to be one of Burton's best compositions - right up there with Bruce Hornsby's "The End Of The Innocence"...) was an inspired performance and the crowd reaction was such that he launched into a piano-voice version of We Just Came from The USA that also received an enthusiastic response. Burton then did Rollaway and his piano chording made me think of Let It Be... Hmmm... We were then favoured with a sound rendition of Sour Suite, followed by his first concert performance of Kurt's Song which he did magnificently. Burton kept referring to the fact that it was too early in the day for him to be singing but that didn't stop him from doing an inspired performance of I Will Play A Rhapsody which allowed him to showcase some impressive keyboard skills. Glamour Boy closed off the set but we were able to coax him back to the stage to pull off a smoking delivery of Shiny Stockings, after which he responded to the repeated calls for Break It To Them Gently that generated the best response for the day. The underground area was jammed with people, but thanks to Donduck's enterprizing resourcefulness, Rocksteady was able to enjoy the show from close proximity and an excellent vantage point. Delighted to meet Bob Reid for the first time today as well, who will I am sure verify if necessary the fact that Rocksteady was indeed there! All in all, a pleasant Wednesday Noon hour...
Rocksteady
It was a great day for you, but also a great day for the faithful. We were there early, but we had a blast. Once again, you gave a great performance which was worth the wait. There is nothing more natural than you and your piano. You hit those notes just right, even though it was only noon time. Thanks for acknowledging our presence. It makes us proud. You are one of a kind.
Your kindness and openness today during your show and autograph session made this day special for a lot of people, myself included.
Being told by an Icon "I like your work" was really a big moment for me. Hope you enjoy the dvd, and the photos I left for you.
BTW, nice to see ATG advertised on Newsworld and seeing you there singing Dream...
Thank you to you too.It was our pleasure to be there early for you. (even though...my feet were killing me...LoL) I was happy to be there meeting Burton!
I am really happy for your success with ATG.
Take care,
Graciela
Thank YOU, so very much, for everything.
I have been a fan since the bobby sox days at St.John's High (I am an alum and like you I pursued a career in music once I graduated, under the stage name of Leigh Avery). My son writes music and we would appreciate any advice you might have regarding how to get his music "out there" (it has been a long time since I have been around the biz). Your new album is a long time coming, but well worth the wait.
This whole thing is just too cool Burton!! Wish you much success with this wonderful cd!! Through Ted and Kevin-the pics and the videos made me feel like I almost was there!! You sounded great!!
I can say,up until you came down from the signing platform to sing and pose with Lillian,I was certain that all Rock Stars were the same. You proved me wrong and you earned a respect that no other performer will ever receive.I've been a fan of the performer Burton Cummings for 3 decades but today I became a true fan of Burton Cummings The Man.My hat is off you.Once again Great job on a fantastic album and do us one favour?Never stop being you.
A side note..sorry the Lillian video took longer to upload than the hour I promised..(Its on youtube now along with a few others...)Blame Bill Gates's Microcrap.
Thanks Again for a life long memory.
Ted
Right-on Burton! Always liked the American tongue-in-cheek undertones to your music (Who and solo).
I just joined your MySpace site and left a reflection of the awesome Halifax show on Nov 1.
Rock on!
Burton, my heartfelt congratulations once again for ATG. This CD is a treasure and we have kept a copy sealed for keepsake as a special momento and reminder of what your music has meant to us for such a long time.
We are so anxious to see you perform in Richmond, BC in December which will undoubtedly be yet another momentous occasion that we will treasure for a lifetime.
What else can I say but...thank you so much.

Congratulations on being #1 Burton. The faithful knows how hard you worked on this since you were so kind to blog about the making of ATG while it was happening. Thanks for letting us be a part of this ambitious project.
Thanks for putting your heart and soul into ATG. It is a work you can proud of now and for years to come. It really is timeless as much of your music has always been.
I'm hoping you can somehow talk EFR out of retirement and the two of you can tour together. Rumor has it that EFR's leader left myspace to enter rehab for a rare and often fatal addiction to Phillies baseball. I have first hand distressing information that he shamefully snuck out of the rehab center in the middle of the night and was found sleeping on the doorstep of Phillies slugger Ryan Howard's house. Burton - please do all you can to reach out to LTJ and provide all the support you can to help him recover from this horrible and deadly addiction. A Burton Cummings/EFR tour would be the biggest tour of all time.
Cincy Mike
Burton - it may have been early for you, but you were still in fine form - had an absolute blast! You are such a gentleman and you gave so much more to us yesterday than we could ever have expected! I was especially thrilled that you signed my cd's so personally - thank you so much - ATG - #1 - just where it belongs!! (and I was there at 6:30 am and it was well worth it!!!)
CONGRATULATIONS & THANK YOU, BURTON!
This album has been a long time coming, and WELL WORTH the wait.
You've made my Christmas shopping easier!
Much Luck and Many Blessings...
NUMBER ONE!!!!
Always in our hearts!
I am enjoying the CD so very much!!
Its wonderful!
Many blessings,
Caoimhe
Hey Burt,
Just finished listening to ATG in the car and been crying like a baby....Too many years to wait for new tunes that literally blew me away. When I got back to my shell of a home (at least they have the bricking done after Ike) I found a message on my answering machine from Frank Reda saying that you mentioned me on the DVD. Called Frank (he says hi) and he told me that you clarified that Richard is just a combination of people, no one in particular. Anyway, I just listed to the DVD and enjoyed the "plug" and of course you and I talked about "Richard" after you performed it on one of the Variety telethons that I attended so i was aware of it's origin....Hard to believe it's been 6 years since
I last saw you perform but somehow I will manage to drag this old body to a show but tell you the truth I have been afraid to fly since 9/11....Fear, anxiety and depression are terrible diseases. Got a good Dr. in CA so I can shoot for the Moon as opposed to hitting the ground!!!! I know this is getting long, but ATG made this "poor boy cry" and I wasn't even at Orly Airport..!!!! It was good to hear some songs like Junior Won't Behave from your demo of 1990 make it to a CD....Maybe The Muse Will Choose will be on your next album.....USA should do well though I can't really decide if I agree with it, but then again I voted for McCain!!!! I was holding my emotions in check until I heard "Any Minot Miricle" and then the tears started weeping for the oceans and Kurt's Song was perfectly placed on the CD....Kurt was such a great guitarist and when he got to that "place" on stage, man he was in the Twilight Zoze.... Enough rambling as I feel those tear ducts swelling up again and as I have always said "your music brings me up when I am too down and down when I am too up"....This time I was down and the joy of your music brought me further down, but in a nice way....Yes, it is permissible to cry.
Rock On My Friend....
Hope to see you soon....
Richard Stonely....Houston, Tx (a red state)....
Hey Burton, I am back on line. My computer was hit with a virus and thank our good Lord and a super great tech friend, it didn't do permanent damage. Please accept my heartfelt apology in being so late to extend my congratulations to you. I was with you in spirit Tuesday. I received my copy of ATG from Amazon yesterday and just love it. Every song is a gem. "Any Minor Miracle" is another that touches my heart. It does not surprise me that ATG has reached number 1. This weekend on my radio show I will be featuring ATG and a cut from "Dream of a Child" Damn, a white guy from the praries can still deliver. Burton, I will light the way for ATG in the US on radio. I know there are others. I just feel this sense of pride knowing you. It is my dream to have you on my show. My friend, this dream is not about accolades for me. I just want to show and tell everyone that you have touched my life. I know all our dear friends in the Clubhouse feel the same. Bless you sweetie.
What a wonderful day November 4th has been!! ATG and a new president!
Congratulations on your (continued) success. ATG is phenomenal to say the least. I wish you continued success always!
Enjoy and bask in the glory!!
By the way, any new concert dates we should know about??
Be good and be well,
Your most faithful faithful,
FrancineL.
Oh my gosh I don't have it yet!!!!! The mail delivery person left a stupid piece of paper saying it needed a signature and I work and my husband works and my son goes to school and THERE IS NOBODY HOME DURING THE DAY!!!!! My husband oh so kindly went to pick it up at the post office last night and it won't be there until tonight....... I want to have this CD! I had to do a no-no and go onto myspace to listen to some of it at lunch today. Congratulations on getting this done and I gotta go back to work. Looking forward to listening and watching this weekend.
Cindy
well mr,cummings this just gos to show you still have it you have lost nothing over the years and there is still a lot of great music life in side of you just waiting to git out to your many fans god bless my friend
Burton, I've never posted a comment online before. I guess it takes something special to bring me to this. I have to tell you, I am in my fifties now, I saw you for the first time in Shilo, MB in 1968 or so. Followed you ever since. Always loved your music and special gift of a voice. BUT - this new album has got to be your best by far! Congratulations and thanks for adding a moving and brilliant album to the soundtrack of my life. "Kurt's Song" blew me away. Several years ago I briefly dated one of his ex's. She told me lots of captivating stories of his life. To hear your song was very moving. Good luck and thanks for a lifetime of great work! J
Mr Cummings, as a regular commuter over the Provencher Bridge I was thinking the other day you could actually turn the located Sals restaurant into a " Hard Rock Cafe" type of establishment. You could house memorabilia from The Guess Who, Solo stuff, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Neil Young, Stretch Marks, Dub Rifles, etc. into the restaurant. All local Winnipeg acts. That would be a great draw for people to make that trek to the restaurant in the long cold winter months. Just a thought. Megwetch, Craig Fontaine.
I guess you know now, "who loves ya' BABY?" We all do...but especially the faithful. Love ya..Kathy
What a week, what a month, what a year...it's all encapsulated in ATG :)
And just for shits and giggles: you signed autographs for about an hour and a half, and say you averaged about 1 every 15 seconds [I saw you for about 30, my friend Christina behind me saw you for about 10 lol] that means you signed about 360 albums, with a dollar value of just under $6100. I know how you were just *dying* to know that :P

I just bought 5 copies on Amazon! I can't wait to listen to it over and over and over. And share it with all the people that know how much I love me some Burton!
I went and picked up my good friend Teresa, on the weekend to take her out for coffee. ATG was playing in the car and she commented on how much she really liked it. When I parked, I asked her to listen to Invisible and I watched her reaction. When it got to the part "You had it in your first crush", she said, "This song makes me smile", but then when it got to the line, "your mother crying silver tear drops", she put her hand on her chest and said, "wow, now I want to cry" and we both laughed. She LOVED the song and said the way you sang "Hey, I thought that stuff was invisible" drew her in, because you sounded like you had just made that discovery for yourself and wanted to share it with a friend. It made her want to listen more intently.
Thanks again Burton for everything.
M
Burton...love the PASSION in your voice and songs, something that is missing in alot of todays singers. Minor miracle, Ponderlast and Look out prove there is no better at the keys and vocal. B.P. in The Kootenays
There were a lot more of the faithful at the FCP show than we knew!!! Wish I could have met more of you
Rocksteady, Young Smart Steve, Bob Reid and all the others who are online, sorry I missed you. Hope to meet you next time.
Some of us have been talking about a get together for the faithful. We will make sure it is well advertised.
Thanks to YOU, dear HEART.
I have waited so many years for this album. When I was unwrapping it, I was literally shaking....
You continue to be an inspiration and a light. Bless you heart for staying so true to Canada.
My teen age kids adore your music; what's that got to say for enduring talent? Keep singing.

Burton,
Have pondered on how to respond to this ... You being so gracious with your heartfelt thanks and the Faithful being so completely honoured.
Think this past year must be about that balance thing ... it has enabled us all to share something none of us anticipated or searched for ... it just all came together, like it was meant to be.
Personally, the most rewarding for myself, after following your talent forever, is that you have finally found and accepted yourself and your artistry. ATG is a tribute of your life as an artist, and more importantly, as a person. You have willingly shown us your inner core. Together, we have all shared our innermost thoughts. Each and every one of us is so proud to have had a minute part in the making of ATG. Think mutual respect has us surrounded! ... SO refreshing, in these times, that people from all walks of life, can create such a huge positive.
CONGRATS to ALL involved.
Love and Peace to all.
Jan
